I have a lot of movies and shows, “sourced” through unmentionable means and occupying a large portion of my modest hard disk. Every day I go through the battle of picking out one to watch while balancing my plate of dinner and end up getting frustrated on my indecision and a cold meal. IMDBnator, created by SKD who was in a familiar predicament while browsing through his college LAN connection, solved this.

The site can obtain the IMDB ratings, genre, description, etc of all the movies within the folder selected by you. The results can be presented in ‘poster’ view (above) or ‘table’ view (below).

What makes it a lifesaver is that the website has the capability to decipher filenames which you find commonly on torrent downloads such as City.Of.Men.2007.720p.Bluray.x264.YIFY and pull out the relevant details from IMDB. Alternatively, you can also give a list of movies whose details you are looking for. I have been using this for a while, and even though it is not a cent percent accurate, it is certainly close to it and will serve the purpose. Fast, clean design and with capability to export the list into a csv format; this website will always have a place in my favorite’s list.
